THE FRONT & CENTRE FIELD GUIDE
Staffing a long-running attraction
A multi-week visitor experience needs a plan for consistency, changing demand and the energy required across the whole run.

Design around the operating rhythm
Weekdays, weekends and school holidays can have different patterns. Map opening hours and expected peaks before choosing a flat daily team size.
Keep knowledge consistent
Use a common brief and a reliable handover process. When an experience changes, update all relevant team members rather than relying on informal messages.
Plan rotation and cover
Interactive roles can be demanding. Discuss break cover, rotation between suitable roles and the required training for each station.
Connect front of house and retail
Entry, the experience and the shop form one visitor journey. Review how queues, photo collection and retail peaks affect each other.
Review with evidence
Track the operational questions that matter: queue issues, recurrent visitor questions, staffing gaps and changes in demand. Envisage’s Minecraft case study illustrates delivery across 6,497 reported shifts; it is an example, not a headcount template.
